Daryle Fountain, that’s me! Daryle (dare-ill) and Fountain, as in water. Born in the land of distelfinks and chocolate kisses and fell in love with art as soon as I could grasp a crayon and make marks upon paper. I moved to the low-down dirty south at a young and impressionable age, where I spent most of my youth at the beach. For the past 20 years I have been traveling from coast to coast: from Florida to California to Hawaii and back again. I studied art and biology at several fine institutions and earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. I began my career as a tattoo artist in 2001, but I’m always learning. When I am not making art, you can find me training for a marathon, collecting random trivia facts, making lists, or attempting to cultivate the creativity of young artists. I could eat chips and salsa on a daily basis and I still get all giddy when I walk into a tattoo shop and smell the scent of green soap in the air. I am happy to tattoo in any style, from fine-line to American traditional, though I am especially fond of detailed botanical imagery. Full color, black and gray, and blackwork…I enjoy it all.
